Sustainable Development Action Group

What have our eco-leaders been up to this term? As part of our initiative to make Luton more sustainable the Sustainable Development Action Group and School Council came together to take part in a series of digital workshops delivered by Action for Conservation WildEd program which aims to increase understanding of our planet’s most pressing environmental issues and the importance of the COP26 Glasgow Climate Summit. After learning about the most current data on species extinction, loss of biodiversity and the impacts of climate change; through interactive quizzes and discussions, students divided themselves into teams to further investigate a local issue affecting biodiversity or air pollution, and find solutions that can be implemented on an individual scale. The teams are now working on their final presentations to share across the school and the local community, which will be shared next term. Keep following our activities to find out more about what you can do to promote sustainable living. If you would like to take part in future activities by the Sustainable Action Group, speak to Miss Sikdar or email: msikdar@denbighhigh.co.uk Our Mission is to protect the environment and encourage more sustainable lifestyles to protect our future. We are also committed to helping those less fortunate than us meet their basic needs To find out more about the United National #GlobalGoals and why we must all ACT NOW, visit: https://sdgs.un.org/goals
