Santa Dash 2020
This term, Year 7 students and members of staff took place in the Santa Dash (which coincided with Christmas Jumper Day) to raise money for the charity ‘Save The Children.’ Save The Children’s work saves and improves the lives of children all over the world. They work to ensure children have healthcare, food and shelter, as well as child protection services when children need it the most.Their work is very important as they secure the rights of millions of children around the world and they are committed to making sure that they can give children a brighter future.
The Santa dash event was important to students and staff members as it helped everyone get into the festive spirit and mood. The event displayed many key attributes of a Denbigh learner such as perseverance, determination and resilience. It also helped the students to push themselves to their maximum ability as they ran for as long as they could.
We asked Mr Stewart and Mrs Corder what they thought of the event and why they took part.
Mr Stewart: “I really enjoyed getting involved with such a fun event. I ran 6 km on a bitterly cold morning. It was fantastic to start to feel the Christmas spirit especially knowing I’m taking part in an event with our wonderful Denbigh students and staff.”
Throughout the event Mr Stewart showed determination and perseverance to get through the 6 km,he did this because he wanted to get into the Christmas spirit and it made everyone feel great knowing that they helped raise money for such an important charity.
Mrs Corder : “It was such fun to get active and festive at the same time! I completed the Santa Dash with my youngest son, who wants to do it all again very soon! So proud of everyone who has taken part in this challenge - go Team Denbigh!”
It is great seeing how she enjoyed completing it along with her son, showing her teamwork and joy in taking part. The Santa Dash was a huge success and we are so proud of everyone who participated!
