Apps For Good - Innovate for Climate Change
For the past eight years, students at Denbigh have taken part in the national Apps For Good programme, which encourages them to work in teams to create an app which solves a real world problem. This year the school is delighted to have been asked by Apps For Good to pilot the new "Innovate for Climate Change" course. At the start of this term, Year 7 students had to apply to be part of this exciting and innovative programme which is running weekly as an after school club until the end of April. The students are learning about the many different factors affecting climate change, while working in teams to develop their own app to tackle global warming in their local environment.
Each week the students have to submit their feedback on the course and, in March, senior staff from Apps For Good will be visiting Denbigh to speak to the pupils in person about their experiences. This detailed analysis will help shape the final version of the "Innovate for Climate Change" course before it is launched to all schools across the country in September.
