Food and Nutrition stretches students to think critically, creatively and curiously. It opens students’ eyes to the World around them whilst immersing them in a range of cultures and influences of modern society. Nutrition is a fundamental factor which influences health and plays a critical role through all stages of life.
By studying food, it equips students with an array of culinary techniques and the nutritional understanding to confidently and independently thrive as well as benefiting their long term health and lifestyle.
The subject also challenges students to consider the changing properties of food which deepens their understanding of fundamental scientific principles, essential in a world driven by innovation and technology.
To me, food is as much about the moment, the occasion, the location and the company as it is about the taste.
