On Tuesday 28th January, Denbigh’s Gold Young Ambassadors Safa Abbas and Abu Hasnath, enjoyed the pleasure of spending the day at the iconic rugby ground Twickenham, the home of English rugby. Both Safa and Abu used the day to help them understand and develop in their roles as Gold Young Ambassadors, meeting other students in the same roles and participating in various workshops along the way.
Aside from the various workshops, the boys were introduced to Great British athlete Jeanette Kwakye who came sixth in the 100m woman’s final in the Beijing Olympics. Meeting Jeanette helped to inspire the boys, as she discussed with them the battles that she has had to fight against injury throughout her career and the importance of remaining positive. This highlighted the significance of people installing self-belief in themselves to try and achieve the best that they can do in their everyday lives.
The day proved to be an incredibly fun and exciting experience for our Young Ambassadors.
Watch this space as the boys will be supporting the School Interform Games during the next term as well as arranging other sporting competitions with the aim of engaging more students and people within the local community, giving them the opportunity to be active and experience fun and enjoyment through sport.
