Denbigh scoops four awards at the LSSPCA

Denbigh High School picked up four awards at the Luton School Sports Partnership Celebration Awards on 18th June 2008 which were sponsored by the Luton North Rotary Club.

Three types of award were presented on the night:

1. Sports Mark & Active Mark Awards to schools across Luton which are allocated
Nationally through achieving various criteria on an annual basis - the main criteria being providing 2 hours of High Quality Curriculum P.E. to every child in the school each week.

WON: Denbigh received an award in recognition of us achieving the Sportsmark Award.

2. The Luton School Sports Partnership Awards based on case studies of activities that have taken place throughout the year under certain criteria.

WON: Denbigh won this award for Best Practice in Demonstrating Attainment and Achievement in and through PE, OSHL and Sport because of our cross curricular links within KS3 festivals and using English as a cross-curricular link to support the festivals.

3. The Luton North Rotary Club Awarded Key Stage 1, 2, 3 & 4 Achievement & Challenge Awards for both Boys & Girls in each Key Stage and Category.

WON: Two Denbigh students won awards. Nosheen Ali won the KS3 Girls Achievement Award and Gabriel Chimuzinga won the KS4 Boys Achievement Award.

Well done to Nosheen and Gabriel and everyone else who participated in what has become yet another success for the Sports College.
