Denbigh athlete achieves national success

21 July 2008

Following her selection at the Regional Athletics Championships, Nosheen Ali travelled to Blackpool on the weekend of the 4th July with the Regional Disability Athletics Team to take part in the National Disability Athletics Championships.

After a long coach journey and an overnight stay at the Hilton Hotel, the team arrived at the athletics track bright and early on the Saturday morning ready to compete.

Once again the weather was less than favourable, with heavy rain all morning, however this failed to dampen the spirits of the team.

Nosheen competed fantastically in her 2 events, the Long Jump and the 100m Sprint and after a long wait was finally announced as the National Champion winning gold medals in both events for her category!!!

This is a fantastic achievement especially given this is Nosheens first Year training and trying out for the event.

Were now looking forward to future successes next Year and supporting even more of our athletes in achieving national selection!
