Another Enrichment Day success

6 July 2009

This years Enrichment Day has been another huge success with the entire student body involved in a whole day of educational activities that were based around the central theme of The Sea'.

Throughout the day students took part in a variety of interesting activities across all of the subject areas including ship building in maths, sea bed mapping in science, beach volleyball in PE and an exploration of 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' in English which was led by an actor dressed as the Ancient Mariner himself.

Other activities included:

  • - A life guard course
  • - Creating a dance of the sea
  • - Mosaics of the sea
  • - Scientic investigations linked to the sea

The students very much enjoyed the day and learnt a huge amount about the sea and our island heritage including important issues like sustainability. There was even some branded Denbigh rock as an added treat.

Denbigh holds an Enrichment Day' every year and it is a chance for the whole school to engage with a range of interesting and creative learning experiences that are all linked to a central theme. Previous themes have included Africa and the Olympics.
