Noughts and Crosses at Theatre Royal
GCSE Drama students study Nought and Crosses as their set play. It is a story like Romeo and Juliet, but set in a dystopian world where people are divided into Noughts and Crosses, and the Crosses rule.
This year, we were able to take the GCSE drama cohort as well as students from other year groups who demonstrate outstanding commitment to Drama, to see Noughts and Crosses get brought to life on stage in Stratford.
Students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the play as they were catapulted into this dystopian world. We laughed, we cried (a lot), but most importantly, we saw an outstanding piece of drama with an extremely important message: that we should not be segregated, we should all be treated as equal, treat others as our equals and we should not be judgemental.
