Jayne Ellery retires from the Trust

After 15 years and over 700 CTG training and Challney Boys trained teachers, it’s time for us to say farewell to Jayne Ellery as she ventures west to discover wonderful walks along the Jurassic Coast! Good wishes to her on her retirement.

Lorraine’s half marathon run

Our Director of Standards, Lorraine Hughes, represented Chiltern Learning Trust in the Love Luton 10k (Half Marathon) on Sunday 28th October. Lorraine was part of the team raising money for Children with Cancer, and she raised a staggering £345 and £77.50 in gift aid from the Trust and donors to help this wonderful cause.

Double award winner for BBC Three County Radio, & Luton Community Award

Adam Ryan, a PE teacher at Challney High School for Boys, was recently crowned with the BBC Three Counties Radio Silver Award for ‘Teacher of the Year’, as well as the Luton Community Award for ‘Teacher of the Year’. His nominations came from former students, who wanted to thank their hard working teacher and have his work recognised by the wider community. For example, former student Mobeen Ahmed and Mr. Ryan raised £1913 for the Sports Relief Charity in 2017.

LutonEd first event - Erin Corder talked about Denbigh’s best behaviour from policy to practice

Erin Corder gave a talk on the theme of ‘On Their Best Behaviour: From Policy to Practice’ at the first ‘LutonEd’ meeting, at The Bear Club in Luton. Her talk educated teachers from around Luton on the crux of excellent behaviour management and the required systems and processes to ensure that the quality of teaching and learning is maximised. In addition to hi-octane educational content, this meeting aims to give Luton teachers an enjoyable night out, with an educational pub quiz (in which Erin who represents the Chiltern Learning Trust, won.)
