Denbigh selected by the Chartered College of Teaching for online Technology for Learning course
The Chartered College of Teaching (CCoT) are soon to launch a Technology for Learning online course funded by the Department for Education. The course will be made available to teachers, leaders, and education professionals across the UK and internationally. We are delighted to announce that Denbigh has been selected as one of a small number of schools whose practice will feature in this online course.
On the 13th and 14th November, a film crew from the CCoT spent two days in school interviewing both staff and pupils about how they use technology for learning to enhance engagement, improve understanding and raise attainment. The film crew also visited lessons, where they saw first hand the use of Chromebooks and Google Classroom facilitating peer assessment and collaborative learning, the app Plickers used as an assessment for learning tool, flipped learning implemented to encourage pace and productivity and online trackers which allow pupils to analyse and improve their own progress in lessons.
The purpose of the filming is to enable teachers, leaders and those in the education sector to improve their teaching and extend the continuous professional development. The course will be launched in the New Year following the BETT Education Technology Show.
