Denbigh’s Got Talent
On Thursday 15th November, Miss Cooper, alongside the Year 10 House Captains, put together their annual Denbigh’s Got Talent show in order to help raise money for Children In Need.
Within minutes of the doors being opened, the hall started to fill and the audience had the chance to buy drinks, popcorn, sweet cones, cakes and raffle tickets from stalls run by Year 10 forms.
After all the seats were filled, the show started and the audience were introduced to their hosts: Kinza Shah, Elsah Khan, Razwana Begum and Mehraz Uddin, who immediately revealed the judges for this year's show. The judges were: Miss Baig, Mr Mistry, Mrs Garricques, Mrs McGregor, Mr Chowdhury and student judge Samee Tariq.
Throughout the evening a variety of different acts took place, including singing, dancing, magic, comedy and improvisation. Although each act was extremely entertaining and full of talent, the judges had to pick who they thought deserved first, second and third places. After ten minutes of deliberation, the judges came to a conclusion and Emiliah Zain and Kamil Ali were invited to the stage to announce the winners with their prizes. Third place was awarded to Aqeeb Nazir (74/Wembley), for his improvisation act. Second place was rightfully awarded to Abdullah Sadiq (74/Wembley) for his magic act which left the whole hall in shock. And finally, the judges decided to award first place to Krista Garmonsway (92/Wimbledon), for her singing, which definitely amazed everyone in the room.
Year 10 provided an evening full of entertainment with the help of all the acts who participated and managed to successfully raise over £500 for Children In Need with the sale of tickets as well as their stalls.
